What is Breakout?

What is Breakout?

  • Breakout is a weekend event open to all young people; to be an inspiration, a resource and a challenge to explore and express the Christian faith.
  • Breakout is an event that values, supports and equips those working with young people.
  • Breakout is an event to complement, resource and enhance the ongoing children and youth work in the local setting. We want young people and youth workers to take the challenges and inspiration that they encounter at Breakout beyond the Breakout weekend and into the rest of their lives.

Who comes to Breakout?

Young people, aged between 11 and 23, come to Breakout with their youth group. It is not possible for individuals to book and attend Breakout on their own. It may be possible to link individuals with Circuit, District or ecumenical groups. For more info email childrenandyouth@methodistchurch.org.uk

The Breakout Theme

There is a different theme for each Breakout. This year the theme is ‘Connect’. We encourage youth workers to develop this theme in the planning for their ongoing work with young people. To read more about the theme Connect visit www.breakout2010.info

Who organises Breakout?

  • Breakout is organised by the Methodist Church for those in association with the Methodist Church.
  • The Methodist Children and Youth Staff rely on volunteers to help with the planning and running of the event. If you would like to be involved please contact childrenandyouth@methodistchurch.org.uk
  • Affinity Events Ltd has been the event management company working with us since 2001. www.affinityevents.co.uk
